There was really no pre-planning involved in putting this mornings show together. I knew I would start with the song “black-eyed peas” from Carey Bell’s very fine “Heartaches & Pain” CD, but beyond that I was flying by the seat of my pants so to speak. All in all I did manage to mix in some new material from the likes of Pinetop Perkins, James Hinkle, Fiona Boyes and Buddy Guy. I threw in some classic artist like Albert King, Charles Brown and Mississippi Fred McDowell. I Featured a few songs by some lesser know artists like Kathy Walker Gary Allegretto and Cathy Lemmons. Then I finished the show with some guitar laden songs from Lil’ Dave Thompson, Jimmy Thackery and Duke Robillard. I had fun, and judging from some listener feedback we did okay. Tune in next week. Who knows what we’ll be up to.
